Simon's first day so took it easy and sailed Kanaha with a Quatro twinser under my feet on demo from the Quatro store in Haiku. Cross-off and very gusty meant it was hard work and frustrating out there today. However I did score probably my best wave of the trip so far - a clean boom-higher which allowed 5 or 6 bottom/top combos. Apart from that the session produced nothing to write home about, and then at the end of the day when I was a fair distance out trying to sail in to the beach the wind switched off completely, meaning I had to hitch a lift back on a lifeguard's jet-ski...

Have to say that I wasn't totally sold on the twinser. It did feel good on the wave but not significantly better than my RRD - which makes me think that concentrating on sorting out my wavesailing technique is far more important than worrying which plank is under my feet. For everything else the RRD is definitely better (jumping, early planing, upwind etc). I think in big waves the twinser would excel - it felt like it needs a lot of power from the wave and/or the wind to make it work. Anyway, this means that fortunately I don't think I need to splash the cash on a twinser to maximise my enjoyment of my sailing here. I should be focusing more on improving my technique.
